The Nelson Tennis Foundation is proud to offer the Trey Louis Baring Memorial Scholarship, a special award created to honor the life, legacy, and lasting impact of Trey Baring—a former tennis professional, passionate advocate for the game, and a dedicated supporter of the Foundation’s mission.
This annual scholarship recognizes graduating seniors from Georgetown High School (GHS) and East View High School (EVHS) who exemplify the values Trey lived every day: service, sportsmanship, leadership, and a genuine love for tennis. Trey believed deeply in using tennis as a way to give back, build community, and support others, and this scholarship continues that spirit.
The Trey Louis Baring Memorial Scholarship awards $1,000 to a student (or students) who demonstrate meaningful volunteerism, commitment to promoting tennis, and a positive impact on teammates, programs, and the broader community. More than financial support, this scholarship is a celebration of character and the powerful role tennis can play in shaping lives.
Through this scholarship, the Nelson Tennis Foundation is honored to help students pursue their future goals while carrying forward Trey’s passion for service and the game he loved.
