1.      Why is the course so fast?
There are 2 hills in the 1st mile that allow for a 100 foot drop in the last 2 miles. The last 600 meters is downhill with a view of the finish.

2.     Why aren't strollers and dogs allowed?
Most of the run is on Logan Drive which will not be closed to traffic. It is coned 5 feet from the edge and there is not sufficient room for strollers and pets to pass. This year, however, we are encouraging walkers and you are welcome to WALK at the end of the pack with stroller or dog.

3.     Why isn't the course certified?
Have you noticed how most "certified" courses are not 3.11 miles? Most are longer. That's because the person who designs, measures and cones the course are 3 different people.  Our race director does all 3 and remeasures the course the week before to account for any construction, flooding etc. The only compelling reason for certification is to allow USATF records to be broken which is not going to happen in July.

4.     Where do the proceeds for the race go?
100% of net revenues go toward college scholarships for graduating seniors at Georgetown High School and to promote tennis in Georgetown. The runner's fees barely cover expenses so we are very grateful for our generous sponsors. Please take the time to interact with them before and after the race.
